Remote-/Hybrid-Audits for VDA 6.3 Renewal

On behalf of the QMA (Quality Management Committee), the VDA 6.3 project group has developed a recommendation for the performance of remote audits. A maximum of two (2) remote audit(s)/hybrid audit(s) are recognized for the VDA 6.3 extension. The regulation applies retroactively for the year 2020 and is valid until further notice. This special regulation is effective immediately and will be implemented worldwide, for it is expanded to all regions of the license partner network of the VDA QMC. The VDA QMC will continue to monitor the global situation and depending on the development of the COVID-19 spread may initiate further measures.

Qualification certificate as VDA 6.3 (2023) auditor will be issued after passed the written and oral examination. And they will be registered in VDA QMC Worldwide database.

All German OEMs requesting a certified VDA 6.3 Auditor from VDA QMC or VDA QMC licenses partners along the supply chain. When German OEMs do customer process audits they will check the qualification of supplier auditors. Therefore, you have to present your VDA QMC certificate. Even Chinese OEMs e.g. Great Wall, Chery…are requesting VDA 6.3 auditors by their suppliers.

For VDA 6.3 (2023) auditor qualification you need to meet some requirements. Please refer the “VDA 6.3 (Version 2023 ) Trainings' Introduction” .

After successful examination (interview) we will issue a VDA 6.3 (2023) certification which is valid worldwide database.

*** Before the expiration date you need to renew your auditor card and certificate, please go to the download center downloading the file named ‘Application form for the maintenance (extension) of the qualification’ which located in Training & Coaching index.

Brief overview:

Condition 1.   Proof of the validity period 
Copy of the current certificate

Condition 2.  Proof of auditing experience
At least 5 (five) process audits and/or potential analysis (with in total at least 10 audit days) as responsible auditor in the period of validity of the qualification. Internal as well as external process audits are accepted.

• Case 1：holding VDA 6.3(2016) certificate with expiration date before June. 30th, 2020

Auditors holding VDA 6.3(2016) certificate with expiration date before June. 2020 and also who are unable to provide the necessary proofs for maintaining their qualification by the end of the second half of 2020 due to the COVID-19 situation will be granted extension until end of the first quarter of 2021.Please provide related audit proofs. For initial qualification, renewals and re-qualification remote audits will be NOT accepted

• Case 2：holding VDA 6.3(2016) certificate with expiration date after June. 30th, 2020
  

(Except there is additional extension regulation due to COVID-19)Auditors who are unable to provide the necessary proofs for maintaining their qualification can attend one day"VDA 6.3 - Workshop for certified Process Auditors(ID341)"as a replacement.

Note：

Case 1 is applied for below situation:
Auditors holding VDA 6.3(2016) certificate with expiration date before June. 2020 and also who are unable to provide the necessary proofs for maintaining their qualification by the end of the second half of 2020 due to the current situation will be granted extension until end of the first quarter of 2021.

Auditors, who fulfill all requirements and / or are not affected by the corona situation or who hold certificate with expiration date after June. 30th, 2020, excpet there is additional extension regulation due to COVID-19, shall of course hand in the applications in due time.

Condition 3. Copy of certificate of VDA6.3 upgraded 

Summarize:

Smooth extension = condition 1 + condition 2 + condition 3 + RMB 1800 (New price from 1 Sep. 2021 onwards)

Auditors, who fulfill all requirements and / or are not affected by the corona situation, shall of course hand in the applications for renewal of VDA 6.3 or re-qualify for IATF 16949 1st/2nd party in due time.
